Bio
Alrik Lunsford joined the Center’s Clean Transportation Team in June 2021. He currently serves as a Clean Transportation Specialist, where he provides support to initiatives that further the adoption of alternative fuels and advanced transportation technologies. This includes educating stakeholders from diverse backgrounds about the benefits and cost savings from using clean energy and alternative fuels, and coordinating planning activities with stakeholders to advance a sustainable energy economy. Primarily, Lunsford oversees expansion efforts in providing support to rural and underserved communities throughout central and eastern North Carolina that will help reduce the state’s dependence on foreign oil, transportation-related emissions and improve public health. Prior to joining the Center, he served as a Regional Planner at the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments. Lunsford received a MPA from North Carolina Central University and a BA from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Visual Arts and Design.
