Steve graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree co-majoring in mechanical engineering and biorenewable resources and technology. He has been a registered professional engineer since 2013, currently holding active licenses in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Steve is also a member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
Steve has over 15 years of engineering experience working in the power generation, utilities, and renewable energy fields. His position directly prior to Center was still with North Carolina State University (NCSU) but as the plant engineer for the central utility plants where he supported the operations and maintenance of five central utility plants to safely and reliably supply steam, chilled water, and electricity to campus buildings.
