NCCETC is hosting a variety of training sessions this spring that will provide individuals with essential technical skills and a competitive advantage in the clean energy field. Those who have completed the center’s FSPV course or have prior working knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems will have the opportunity to attend more advanced training sessions in May 2024.
Individuals from a variety of professions are encouraged to take these courses, including solar system installers or designers, electricians, engineers, energy professionals, emergency service providers, code officials, facility energy managers, and architects or building designers.
O&M, or Operations and Maintenance of PV Systems, is a 16-hour course with sessions held over two days. This in-person training is taught with both classroom style and hands-on activities that build off of the skills learned in the classroom. During the course, participants will learn to evaluate performance by taking measurements, testing insulation resistance (IR) and interpreting IV curves, locating ground faults, finding faulty modules and inverters, and designing an O&M work plan including safety protocol. Continuing education credits awarded by NCBELS, AIA, NCBEEC, and NABCEP may be earned after participants complete this course. The registration fee for this course is $699, which includes lunch, parking, and a course notebook. NCCETC will be holding this training session May 9-10, 2024.
