Shannon Helm

Senior Director, Communications & External Relations

Bio

Shannon Helm is the Communications Director at the Center, where she manages marketing communications, including messaging and branding strategy, communications strategies, program management, media relations, event planning, fundraising, internal communications, and website and social media management. She is also the main lead for planning, implementation, marketing and fundraising for the State Energy Conference of North Carolina. Prior to working at the Center, Shannon was the marketing and communications manager for the Power Products and Power Services Division of ABB. She has over 20 years as a communications leader working in a variety of organizations. She holds a Master of Science in Communications from NC State University, a Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Shannon is a mission-driven leader and volunteers in the community for various organizations. She also holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University.
