Building North Carolina’s Clean Energy Workforce – Leveraging Resources and Identifying Gaps
October 25, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
The Department of Commerce, The Department of Environmental Quality, Department of Transportation, the Office of Governor Roy Cooper, and NC A&T University invite you to join us for Building North Carolina’s Clean Energy Workforce – Leveraging Resources and Identifying Gaps, a no-cost preconference as part of the NC Sustainable Energy Association’s Making Energy Work Conference.
The state and federal clean energy landscape is evolving and at a record pace. Newer and cleaner technologies are being deployed at scale and government is accelerating industry growth through supportive policies and billions of dollars in investment designed to reduce greenhouse gases and other pollution while cultivating a domestic clean energy economy that creates good paying jobs. Together with business and industry leaders, representatives from across the state will collaborate to begin sketching out a cohesive workforce development strategy to underpin for North Carolina’s transition to a clean energy economy.
Bob Powell, Retired Professor from NC A&T will lead us in discussion around how new clean energy workforce programs can best engage and support employers. You’ll also hear from state agencies about new funding programs that are designed to support your current and future talent needs.
