2019 Southeastern Food Processors Association (SFPA) Annual Convention
October 17, 2019 @ 8:00 am - October 20, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
Top industry experts share insights into topics essential to the success of a food processor. Food processors typically share samples of their own brands with other members and associate members can display their products at exhibits.
NCCETC’s Kimberly Conley and Ted Spencer will be speaking on combined heat and power (CHP).
Combined heat and power (CHP) is the concurrent production of steam and electricity from a single fuel source; that fuel source may include biogas, biomass or natural gas. For facilities with large concurrent thermal and electric loads, CHP offers the opportunity to reduce energy costs while enhancing energy reliability and resiliency (see a case study on Frito-Lay here). Interest in CHP systems has increased as energy end-users recognize these system’s ability to anchor flexible microgrids that can also incorporate renewable energy generation, supporting sustainability objectives associated with increased efficiency and CO2 reductions.
