Bio
Nick Montoni is a senior project manager at the Center on the Policy and Markets team. Nick brings over a decade of experience in policy development, policy implementation, and the physical sciences through roles at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. House of Representatives, and non-profit think-tanks. Nick previously worked at the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy as its Deputy Chief of Staff, managing cross-functional teams to deliver a nearly $3 billion R&D budget. Nick also staffed the House Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee, handling DOE’s science and innovation accounts totaling more than $15 billion, and worked for Congressman David Price of NC on matters including energy, environment, agriculture, nutrition, and telecommunications. Outside of work, Nick enjoys baking and running marathons.
Education
Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, with a concentration in data science and machine learning.
