The North Carolina Taskforce for Offshore Wind Economic Resource Strategies, provides expert advice to Governor Cooper and state policymakers on ways to advance offshore wind energy projects in North Carolina, with a special focus on economic development and job creation. This NC TOWERS Taskforce discussion will primarily focus on the military’s involvement in the offshore wind industry and cover key topics: Workforce opportunities in the industry, especially for exiting servicemen and women who are interested in offshore wind careers and intend to stay in North Carolina. The Department of Defense’s (DOD) role in deconflicting offshore wind energy areas to ensure that related projects do not interfere with DOD’s mission or readiness.
