Our Mission

The NC Clean Energy Technology Center is a public service organization dedicated to advancing a sustainable energy economy. We do this through education, demonstration, and support for clean energy technologies, practices, and policies.

Our Vision

We envision a future where clean energy powers economic growth, reduces reliance on foreign energy sources, and minimizes the environmental impacts of fossil fuels. Our work promotes the development and use of clean energy in ways that support both sustainability and economic resilience.

Funding and Support

The Center receives core funding from the North Carolina General Assembly through a direct appropriation. Additional support comes from training and technical assistance fees, as well as competitive federal, state, and private research grants. We also benefit from contributions to the NC Clean Energy Technology Center Fund, administered by the NC State Engineering Foundation.

The NC State Engineering Foundation partners with alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations to secure vital support for the College of Engineering. These gifts help fund student stipends, research, and programs like ours—initiatives that often go beyond the scope of state appropriations.
