Meet Training Alum Hyla Zouzias of Cape Fear Solar

“It’s really helpful in seeing what solar is all about.  It’s going to really help me at work.”  That’s Hyla Zouzias’ take on the Center’s Advanced Solar Photovoltaic Design & Installation course.

Hyla is a solar project associate with Cape Fear Solar.  She says the class will help her do her job better and advance her career. “I’ll be able to answer many more questions and really know what I’m doing…And it’s going to set me up to take the PVIP through NABCEP, and, ultimately, I’ll get a raise as well.”

The PV Installation Professional Board Certification, or PVIP, from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is considered the gold standard for PV professionals in the renewable energy industry.

“The solar industry changes dramatically – almost every week, every month there’s new technology coming out – new ways of making these systems work more efficiently,” says Hyla.

“So, it’s definitely important to go to these kinds of courses because solar is constantly changing and growing. And you can really be a part of the change and growth and the direction of the industry.

Check out this video testimonial from Hyla where she shares her experience with the ASPV course and walks us through a day in the life of a solar project associate.
