Clean Energy Engineer

Bio

Anna Weitz is a clean energy engineer and is a part of the Clean Power & Industrial Efficiency (CPIE) team and provides technical assistance and outreach for a range of grant-funded programs. Anna has been working with local governments and communities in North and South Carolina to provide education and technical assistance on renewable energy siting and permitting through the Carolinas Development Assistance and Siting Hub (DASH) program since the project began in 2024. She also provides technical assistance and outreach to industrial and institutional energy end users in eight southeast states including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands for the Department of Energy (DOE) Southeast Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnerships (TAP) project. Anna has also done work with communities regarding critical infrastructure resiliency in the face of a natural disaster for the recently completed DOE Resilient Renewable Energy to Diminish Disaster Impacts on Communities (REDDI) project.

Previously, Anna completed co-ops at Honda’s manufacturing and R&D facilities. and she joined Teach for America to teach high school math in Halifax County, North Carolina. She also worked as a performance engineer for a solar company to evaluate the performance of a utility scale solar fleet.
