Southeastern North Carolinians Can Kick-start Solar Careers with NC State’s Free Solar Training Bootcamp

Do you have education and workforce development contacts in Southeastern North Carolina? Know someone there who would be interested in breaking into the solar industry? The NC Clean Energy Technology Center (NCCETC) is excited to partner with NC State University’s College of Natural Resources (CNR) to offer a Free Solar Training Bootcamp designed to equip residents of Southeastern North Carolina with the skills needed to build a career in solar energy.

This hands-on training will prepare participants for a variety of opportunities in the vibrant solar industry, including solar design, installation, maintenance, and sales.

Who Should Apply?

  • Residents of Southeastern North Carolina (Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, New Hanover, Pender, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, and Scotland counties).

  • Age: 18+.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required (no prior solar experience necessary).

  • Commitment: The training is designed for those eager to start a career in solar energy and able to commit to the full week of in-person training and continued engagement with program mentors.

Application Deadline: May 9, 2025 (Early applications are encouraged due to limited space).
