Municipal and Cooperative Electric Utilities Supported by NCCETC for Community Solar Systems in the Southeast

The Center, in partnership with Rocky Mountain Institute, is leading the Department of Energy’s SunShot Initiative funded project to support municipal and cooperative electric utilities accelerated development of community solar systems in the Southeast.

Currently, in the initial phase of the project, the Center, along with the project partners, are scheduling gap analysis workshops with stakeholders across the Southeast to identify gaps in the resources and policies for community solar development. The team has partnered with the Fayetteville Public Works Commission, the largest municipal utility in North Carolina, to help design and procure a community solar project. Any municipal or cooperative utilities that are interested in community solar may reach us at communitysolar@ncsu.edu.
