DESCRIPTION:Navigating Local Resources and Connections to Take Action\nDate and Time: Wednesday\, January 12\, 2022 at 12:00 – 1:30pm ET\nSession Description: \nSo you’ve heard about ways to push for bold climate policies at the national level. But how does that translate into taking action in your own locality? Where do you start to find resources about incentives and policies that support renewable energy and energy efficiency? What are the resources in your area that can help you start your projects on decarbonizing? What kinds of projects can you realistically take on given factors in your community\, building\, and region? Join us to learn more about how to find local resources\, what to be looking for based on your organization’s objectives\, and how to get started with the resources you have to take actionable steps in reducing your organization’s environmental footprint. \nSpeakers / Panelists: \n\nRebekah de la Mora\, Policy Analyst at NC Clean Energy Technology Center\nSue Salinger\, Executive Director of Ekar Farm\nDr. Lorna Gold\, Director of Movement Building at FaithInvest (Catherine Devitt is the main contact at this time for Lorna as she is out on vacation.)\nSarah Moskowitz\, Deputy Director of Citizens Utility Board\n\nWhat is The Big Bold Jewish Climate Fest? \nIt is an online festival to connect our Jewish values to action in order to address our current climate crisis\, and to make climate action a central moral issue of the Jewish community. We seek to re-energize Tu BiShvat\, the Jewish “Earth Day” of sorts\, as a relevant and timely holiday to connect Jewish values with the urgency of climate action. Come learn how we can take bold action together to put millions of people back to work building the clean energy economy\, how to be part of the exciting\, growing Jewish climate movement\, and how to overcome fear with bold action and spiritual audacity. \nThe 2021 festival included gatherings on energy and solar\, organizing and movement-building\, food and agriculture\, Jewish learning\, organizational and political leadership and much more. Most events were online\, though a few may be offered with “boots on the ground”\, COVID-safe opportunities such as beach clean ups and tree plantings. The 2021 festival included over 165 events produced by our festival organizing team and hundreds of partners. \nUltimately\, we hope that being part of a proactive solution to climate change becomes a natural and imperative aspect of every Jewish organization’s and individual’s work and identity. DESCRIPTION:Spring Session 1: January 24 – 28\, 2021\nLength: 40 Course Hours / 5 Days \nCourse Cost: $1\,199* \nPrerequisites: There are no prerequisites to take this course. \nCourse Description: This course covers the fundamentals of design and installation of photovoltaic systems. The 40-hour course is based on NABCEP’s Learning Objectives for NABCEP PV Associate.  A hands-on day installing a fully integrated grid-tied PV system pulls together the classroom knowledge and rounds out the five-day\, in-person workshop. An optional hands-on installation day is available to take after completing the online REPV course. \nNABCEP PV Associate Exam: You are eligible to sit for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam after completing REPV.  Please note this is not NABCEP certification\, it is simply an indicator of knowledge gained which allows you to sit for the NABCEP Associate Exam. This training counts toward the entry-level educational requirement (if other requirements are met) on the journey to becoming a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional. \n*Registration fee includes lunch\, parking\, a textbook\, and a notebook! \n*Payment plans are available. \nRegister here.

DESCRIPTION:Spring Sessions: January 28\, 2022 // April 8\, 2022\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER\nFall Session: September 16\, 2022 \nLength: 8 Course Hours / 1 Day \nCourse Cost: $299 \nPrerequisites: Working knowledge of solar PV; currently working in the solar industry; and/or have taken a fundamentals course such as REPV \nCourse Description: Held in Raleigh\, NC\, this day-long session is for those who have taken the 40-hour REPV online workshop or simply wish to gain more hands-on experience.  This hands-on day begins with an overview of safety\, system components\, system design\, and solar fundamentals.  During the course of the workshop you will be filling out “balance-of-system” worksheets to ensure you understand sound PV system design practices.  You will also be installing a live\, grid-tied PV system\, from mounting the modules\, to wiring the inverter\, and finally\, to commissioning the system.
