SUMMARY:Challenges vs. Opportunities: Rooftop Solar in the Carolinas
DESCRIPTION:The commercial and residential solar industry has become a strong component of the robust clean energy economy in North Carolina. The industry has continued to grow year over year\, with increased demand from corporations and homeowners alike across the state. While that growth has been strong and steady\, we still face a number of challenges that hinders the industry from reaching its full potential—issues that involve HOAs\, industry bad actors\, and financial compensation structures. In this webinar\, we’ll discuss these challenges and the work that NCSEA and other clean energy advocates are undertaking to address some of them. We’ll also talk about some of the biggest opportunities for the rooftop solar industry in both Carolinas\, including the recent solar choice net metering settlement in South Carolina as well as the growth in the residential storage market. \nSteve Kalland\, Director of NCCETC\, will be joining three other panelists to discuss the opportunities for the rooftop solar industry in both Carolinas. \n\n\nAbout the Making Energy Work Webinar Series:\nWHERE ENERGY POLICY GETS TO WORK. Back by popular demand! NCSEA’s Making Energy Work webinar series will return this spring and continue throughout the summer where varying topics in clean energy from finance to policy and market insights will be discussed. Join hundreds of attendees from across the country to get the latest scoop on trending clean energy topics sweeping the industry. Each webinar will feature nationally and regionally renowned experts within their respective fields to help shape the conversations driving clean energy forward in North Carolina and the country.

SUMMARY:Millennial Action Project: 2021 Future Summit
DESCRIPTION:NCCETC’s Senior Policy Program Director\, Autumn Proudlove\, will be co-leading a breakout discussion\, A New Forecast: Responding to Changing Energy Dynamics for a More Resilient Future\, on Friday\, July 30th at 2:10 pm ET.  \n\n\nEach summer\, the Millennial Action Project hosts the largest bipartisan convening of young state legislators  during the Future Summit. Over the past four years\, hundreds of legislators from across the country have set aside party differences and joined together to collaborate\, share policy ideas\, and gain insight from national policy experts. The Future Summit serves as a central location for policymakers to highlight their efforts and propose solutions to advance legislation  in areas disproportionately affecting the Millennial and future generations. \nOn July 29-30\, MAP will hold the fifth annual Future Summit\, to deepen its mission of activating young leaders to bridge the partisan divide and transform American politics. The Future Summit provides new and innovative perspectives\, bridging the partisan divide\, and adding to the ranks of audacious young leaders ready to chart a new path forward. We will host new and familiar faces at this year’s virtual Future Summit and create an opportunity for attendees to build a network of new relationships\, envision new ideas\, and discover a zeal for creating strong\, bipartisan\, Millennial-driven policy. This virtual event is intended for state legislators under the age of 45.

SUMMARY:SFT Webinar Series: Real World EV Durability\, Long Term Maintenance and Operating Cases
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Thursday\, July 29\, 2021\, from 2:00p-3:00p EDT/11:00a-12:00p PDT for an SFT Webinar covering Real World EV Performance\, Durability\, Long Term Maintenance Operating Cases. \nSeveral real word EV deployment cases across vehicles classes with performance\, durability and maintenance data compared to their conventional fueled counterparts will be presented. In addition\, aggregate performance and cost metrics from the Zero Emission Bus Resource Alliance (ZEBRA) will be presented. As with deployment of any alternative fuel\, we have controlled test data\, modeling estimates and OEM performance specifications. From experience\, these numbers do not match real world performance. Learn how EVs are performing in real world applications and duty cycles. \nThe Sustainable Fleet Technology Webinar Series is presented through a collaborative partnership between the NC Clean Energy Technology Center\, The 100 Best Fleets and NAFA Fleet Management Association.
