SUMMARY:FSPV: Fundamentals of Solar PV Design and Installation
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER\nSpring Sessions: January 30 – February 3\, 2023 // April 3 – 7\, 2023 \nFall Session: TBA \nLength: 40 Course Hours / 5 Days \nCourse Cost: $1\,199* \nPrerequisites: There are no prerequisites to take this course. \nCourse Description: The Fundamentals of Solar PV Design and Installation (FSPV) course covers the fundamentals of design and installation of photovoltaic systems. The 40-hour course is based on NABCEP’s Learning Objectives for NABCEP PV Associate.  A hands-on day installing a fully integrated grid-tied PV system pulls together the classroom knowledge and rounds out the five-day\, in-person workshop. An optional hands-on installation day is available to take after completing the online FSPV course. \nNABCEP PV Associate Exam: You are eligible to sit for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam after completing FSPV.  Please note this is not NABCEP certification\, it is simply an indicator of knowledge gained which allows you to sit for the NABCEP Associate Exam. This training counts toward the entry level educational requirement (if other requirements are met) on the journey to becoming a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional. \n*Registration fee includes lunch\, parking\, a textbook\, and a notebook! \n*Payment plans are available.

SUMMARY:Misconceptions in Solar: Public Health & Safety
DESCRIPTION:The NC Clean Energy Technology Center’s first “Misconceptions in Solar” webinar focuses on misconceptions relating to solar and public health and safety. Concerns about the local water supply\, impact on wildlife\, light pollution\, and other impacts on the local communities are just a few examples where misconceptions relating to solar installations arise. Our speakers offer their own examples of common misconceptions that they have encountered from various vantage points within the solar industry and how they go about providing factual information to their clients and the public. \nSpeakers:\n\nSteve Kalland\, Executive Director of the NC Clean Energy Technology Center\nRobert Branan\, Lawyer and Assistant Extension Professor with the Agriculture and Natural Resources (ARE) at North Carolina State University\nHarriet Richardson Seacat\, Regional NEPA/Environmental Planning Lead for Energy Projects at HDR\n\nAbout the Misconceptions in Solar Webinar Series:\nAs de-carbonization and the utilization of renewable resources move to the forefront at the legislative level\, academic research\, and industry integration\, more misconceptions about these topics also arise. Join us in dispelling misconceptions in the solar industry as it relates to public health and safety\, land-use and development\, and finance and policy across our “Misconceptions in Solar” webinar series. Hear examples from representatives from academia\, government\, legal\, and business sectors on common misconceptions\, the facts\, and how they counter these misconceptions with their customers and the public. Learn ways to provide factual information to your clients when encountering misconceptions in the solar industry. \nPDHs/CEUs per session:\n\n1.5 PDHs for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (NCBELS)\n1.5 LUs for American Institute of Architects (AIA)\n\nCost: $25 per webinar OR $60 for all three\nRegister Now
