This milestone event marks the launch of the NC State Agrivoltaics Training Site\, an interdisciplinary collaboration between the NC Clean Energy Technology Center\, Department of Animal Science\, and Nevados. The new demo utility-scale solar installation features the innovative TRACE™ All Terrain Tracker system donated by Nevados and solar modules provided by Boviet Solar. This collaboration between academia and industry demonstrates how renewable energy technologies can strengthen agricultural operations while creating valuable hands-on learning opportunities for students and professionals. \nThe morning’s ceremony will feature remarks from University leadership\, the NC Clean Energy Technology Center\, and Nevados\, followed by a ribbon-cutting\, photos\, and a picnic lunch with fresh lamb bratwurst to celebrate the collaboration. \nGuests are invited to continue the celebration and stay for a preview of the new Agrivoltaics in Action: Enhancing Operations and Maintenance in Livestock-Integrated Solar Sites (12:30 pm – 2 pm). This engaging session introduces the essential skills for solar professionals managing grazed solar sites\, including working with electric fencing\, guardian animals\, and sheep-based vegetation management\, while offering practical strategies to streamline O&M and foster collaboration between solar operators and grazing professionals.
