SUMMARY:Planning and Zoning Best Practices for Large-scale Solar
DESCRIPTION:Join the National League of Cities on Tuesday\, October 15 at 2pm ET for the webinar titled\, Planning and Zoning Best Practices for Large-scale Solar. \nIn this webinar\, National League of Cities will address best practices for planning and zoning for large-scale solar in your community. Learn about ways to provide maximum siting options for ground mount solar projects while preserving your community’s character and historic resources. Attendees will come to understand the development standards they can use to ensure large-scale development creates agricultural\, vegetative\, environmental\, and water quality co-benefits. This webinar will count as training for SolSmart PZD-9 credit: Train planning staff on best practices in planning and zoning for solar PV. \nPanelists include: \n\nRob Davis | Fresh Energy\nSteve Kalland | NC Clean Energy Technology Center\nMegan Day | National Renewable Energy Laboratory\nCara Libby | Electric Power Research Institute\n\nREGISTER HERE!

SUMMARY:2019 Southeastern Food Processors Association (SFPA) Annual Convention
DESCRIPTION:Top industry experts share insights into topics essential to the success of a food processor. Food processors typically share samples of their own brands with other members and associate members can display their products at exhibits. \nNCCETC’s Kimberly Conley and Ted Spencer will be speaking on combined heat and power (CHP). \nCombined heat and power (CHP) is the concurrent production of steam and electricity from a single fuel source; that fuel source may include biogas\, biomass or natural gas. For facilities with large concurrent thermal and electric loads\, CHP offers the opportunity to reduce energy costs while enhancing energy reliability and resiliency (see a case study on Frito-Lay here). Interest in CHP systems has increased as energy end-users recognize these system’s ability to anchor flexible microgrids that can also incorporate renewable energy generation\, supporting sustainability objectives associated with increased efficiency and CO2 reductions.
