DESCRIPTION:The 15th annual Appalachian Energy Summit will be held in-person on the campus of Appalachian State University June 3-5\, 2026. \nThe Appalachian Energy Summit is designed primarily for faculty\, staff\, and students at institutions of higher learning\, as well as local and state government staff and employees of non-profit organizations focused on energy and sustainability. \nThe Energy Summit started in 2012 and has a history of bringing together world leaders in the energy and sustainability sectors. DESCRIPTION:This 2-day\, 16-hour\, in-person course focuses on the operation and maintenance of grid-connected photovoltaic systems. The first part of this course is taught in a classroom format and covers evaluating the performance of systems\, including specific data collection and evaluation\, as well as protocols for collection; arc flash requirements; finding ground faults; thermal imaging; IV curve tracing\, and fuse servicing. SUMMARY:EUCI Utility Strategies to Meet Data Centers Load Conference
DESCRIPTION:The rapid growth of hyperscale data centers and artificial intelligence workloads is reshaping electricity demand in ways utilities have not experienced in decades. Large\, concentrated loads are emerging faster than traditional planning cycles were designed to accommodate\, challenging existing approaches to forecasting\, infrastructure development\, and system reliability. Utilities\, regulators\, developers\, and infrastructure providers are now working to better align project development timelines with the realities of generation\, transmission\, distribution\, and water systems. \nThis conference examines the operational\, planning\, and regulatory issues that arise as utilities and the data center industry respond to this new era of load growth. Sessions will explore how utilities are adapting forecasting models\, coordinating earlier with developers\, planning transmission and distribution upgrades\, and designing tariffs that fairly allocate the cost of infrastructure required to support large new customers. Discussions will also address water use\, siting considerations\, energy storage strategies\, cybersecurity\, and the evolving role of regional markets and federal policy. \nWith AI-driven computing expanding rapidly\, the scale and speed of data center development are increasing the risk of interconnection delays\, infrastructure bottlenecks\, and costly stranded investments if planning is not carefully coordinated.
