DSIRE Collaborates With EnergySage, Providing Consumers With Additional Resources for Exploring Solar Options

Visitors to dsireusa.org can now easily move from education and research to taking the next steps in going solar

BOSTON, MA and RALEIGH, NC – (November 2, 2017)  In an effort to advance its commitment to helping more Americans make informed energy decisions, the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) today announced it has teamed up with the EnergySage, an online comparison shopping marketplace for solar. EnergySage and its full set of tools are now available through DSIRE, including comprehensive solar data on pricing and savings.

DSIRE has long been the go-to resource for information on incentives and policies that support renewable energy and energy efficiency in the United States, including solar. Like DSIRE, the EnergySage Solar Marketplace provides consumers with access to a free, unbiased content library built to simplify the process of researching and going solar. By collaborating with EnergySage, DSIRE is offering consumers the option to seamlessly move from education and research, to evaluating their solar options online.

Visitors to dsireusa.org can do so with help from a number of different resources such as a Solar Calculator for quickly estimating solar savings and access to a Solar Marketplace where consumers can easily comparison-shop multiple quotes from vetted installers with assistance from impartial Solar Advisors. These tools will help DSIRE users make informed decisions and pay a fair price for the right quality solar panel system.

“The collaboration represents DSIRE’s ongoing effort to better assist its users.   Visitors who are interested in solar now have a seamless bridge that connects important incentive and policy information with ways to take informed action. The value of bridging this gap cannot be overemphasized because progress is made when good information leads to doing the right thing,” states Henry Tsai, Deputy Director of the NC. Clean Energy Technology Center, which administers DSIRE.

Backed by the U.S. Department of Energy and with a growing network of more than 400 pre-screened solar installation companies, EnergySage is recommended by more than 50 prominent organizations that utilize the EnergySage platform to help their employees, customers, members, residents, etc. better understand their solar energy options.

“Our collaboration will help increase the adoption of solar PV systems nationally, leading to more business for local installers and lenders,” said John Gingrich, senior vice president for strategic partnerships at EnergySage. “Together, we’re able to bring transparent information and pricing to more consumers so that they can select the equipment, installer, and financing option that suits them best.”
Organizations interested in offering a similar solution to its community should contact John Gingrich at john@EnergySage.com for more information.
