Plug In Electric Vehicle PEV Planning Project

The Clean Transportation Program is part of the North Carolina Mountains to Sea (M2S) project a U.S. Department of Energy funded initiative lead by the Centralina Council of Governments. The one year project will result in a Plug In Electric Vehicle ( PEV) roadmap to facilitate  electric vehicle adoption in North Carolina.  Through the M2S project, the NC Clean Energy Technology Center will work with the Piedmont Triad Regional Council and other stakeholders to develop a Triad PEV Readiness Plan. In addition the Clean Transportation group will serve the NC Plug In Electric Vehicle Task Force to help position North Carolina as a national leader in PEV adoption. More specifically, the group is co leading the Incentives and Economic Development Working Group with the NC Dept of Commerce Green Business team. This effort will develop recommendations, best practices, and forecasts that make North Carolina as advantageous as possible for widespread Plug-In Electric Vehicle (PEV) adoption and business development to grow North Carolina’s green economy with PEV related industries.
